Coming to the Netherlands to study, the surrounding has changed from an environment where few people smoke to a world where there is rarely no smoke. Looking down, I see there are as many butts as there are tiles on the ground. If smoking harms health, butts harm the environment, especially cigarette filters which are one third of marine litter.
I chose to design without using eye-catching slogans to simply let people see what I see. I photographed over 60 pictures of the butts reclaimed on the street and combined them into a butts sea.
